Think about it:
that’s all that sales is.
It’s just words.
Written words,
spoken words,
story words,
sales words.
It’s all just words.
If you get good at words,
you’ll be good at sales,
words matter.
It’s not just how you say your words.
It’s not what you do with your words.
In sales it’s always about how your words make other people feel.
That’s the secret to sales.
It’s not you thinking about your own words.
Sure you have to think about your words and be good with them,
but it’s how your words land with the person.
People buy stuff because the words around them make them feel good.
When you say your words,
how does it make the person feel,
even before they give their words back to you.
Look how your words land.
Does the person smile?
Do they lean toward you?
Do they change their posture?
Are their words more excited after your words?
This is what sales is: a dance with words.
Like anything in life, there is just one way to do it: practice.
Say a lot of words
Write a lot of words
and see what works for you,
but make it feel right for you.
It is not just about copying other people’s words.
It is about how your words show the best of you and also make them feel the best.
How do you know your words have been good?
How do you know they have had a good experience with the words?
If they say, “Thanks, I enjoyed that conversation,” that’s your goal.
It’s not your goal to sell.
Selling is the outcome.
Your goal is to make them have a great conversation by using your words,
Giving them space to say as many words as they can.
If they say more words than you do, you’ve won.
Use words, create space, and be great at sales.
