Would they be surprised?
Imagine your clients could see your CRM.
They could see your pipeline.
They could see where you think they are in the process of becoming a client.
I bet you they would laugh.
All salespeople overstate.
They are overoptimistic;
They believe the clients are going to close.
It's never exactly that.
We all discount a lot of what salespeople say.
But wouldn't it be just amazing if all clients could look in and go,
“What? You've got me as a warm prospect? I don't even know who you are." 😀
Or. It's in as “about to sign in the pipeline," and the client's like, "I'm still considering."
I think it would be so fun.
But also, I think you should use it as a mental game.
Go through your pipeline.
Have a look.
Pretend you're the client.
Do you think the client would think the same as you think?
All those clients are in late-stage or about to say yes, or very interested.
Sure, some are.
But the majority of us've overstated it.
We're over-optimistic,
which is fine because salespeople have to be.
But just for the fun of it,
pretend you're the client,
Have a look at where you are in the pipeline
And try your best not to laugh.
Maybe there's a product in here.
Where secretly clients get to see where startups have them in the pipeline.
There's got to be something in there.
