Through the years.
Has sales really changed?
Sure, a lot of the surface-level stuff has changed,
But has the soul of sales changed?
I think not.
What is the soul of sales?
As you've heard me say before, it's not about selling.
You don't sell by forcing your product down people's throats.
It's about being the right person at the right time when someone needs or wants something.
People buy from people they know and like,
but also they buy from people,
who have been in their minds,
who have been repeatedly showing up
and talking about that exact thing that the person currently wants.
When I started, that meant literally knocking on doors,
making calls,
and handing out leaflets.
Yes, I handed out leaflets on the street.
Today it's about emailing,
It's about putting out content,
It’s LinkedIn
It's about going to events.
But in essence, we're doing the same thing.
We're trying to be the relevant person at the right time with the right message.
I said to a dear friend the other day
“I can sell anything to anyone if they want to buy it." And my friend laughed and said, 'Well, if they want it, they'll buy it'".
Ah, yes, but there are many different people they can buy it from.
Let's face it, I'm one of hundreds of thousands of sales trainers,
but some people use me.
Why? Because I'm going to be the right person at the right time.
This isn't luck.
This is work.
This is an effort.
This is always being relevant and putting out your message because people can only buy something they know about.
So the soul of sales is the same.
Have a message,
Say your message,
get in front of the right people,
smile, and they might buy it from you.
Merry Christmas, people.
I hope Santa sells you what you need.
Content of the week:

I've done over 50 days of videos;
‘Learn Sales in 30 Seconds a Day’.
So, why not put it all together in one 30-second video?
Me, 50 times on one screen,
telling you how to sell, all packed into one 30-second video. 🙂
Enjoy.
