Magic.

Great technology is indistinguishable from magic.

We can all feel that today.

AI often feels like magic.

But great sales is the same.

When you make someone feel;

That's true sales.

Of course, your product must be great.

Of course, they must get a benefit from it.

Of course, the price must be right.

Of course, they must want it.

But as a salesperson, you can't really affect the product.

You're there to provide magic:

Make the meeting feel like it’s theirs,

Follow up before they think about it.

Understanding what they want,

preparation so you almost knew what they wanted,

Doing something unexpected made them feel great.

Sales is a performance,

like theater,

like a magician.

Because it's not your job to sell.

It's your job to put on the greatest show ever

and make it indistinguishable from magic;

because when you make them smile,

when you make them think,

when you make them feel:

‘Wow, how did they do that?’

That's sales.

Of course, you can automate.

Of course, you can use tools.

But your greatest asset is being human.

Think back to when you remember getting "sold" something.

They didn't sell it to you.

You brought it yourself because they gave you the opportunity to.

It's nuanced.

It's hard.

It takes practice.

But that moment when you figure out that sales is actually being a magician.

Greatest job ever.

Get at it.

Content of the week:

This week, we have Liz on The Sell.

Sales is hard work - it's relentless.

If you're not careful, it can get a bit much.

Love this conversation with Liz Bradford.

She's been there, she's burned out, she's understood

What it means to be an incredible high-level.

This show, she'll talk to you about the signs that come when you're doing too much,

what to do, and how she's worked it through for herself and her clients.

I love sales. I love doing as much as I can.

But we also have to be realistic with ourselves.

It's such a good conversation on how to balance it all together.

Enjoy with Liz Bradford!
