You don't close deals with automation.

I have nothing against automation for outreach at scale and getting your message out to people.

So many great tools available to get your message out far and wide.

But when somebody responds - whether they

fill in a form, email you, or DM you, like your post, respond to your post. -

never use automation.

I see it again and again,

with many companies automating this step.

That's total madness.

Imagine someone knocked on your office door and saying,

"Hi, I'm interested to have a look at your products."

What would you do?

Would you send them an automation note or ignore them for a while?

No!

You would use your best skill, being a human and talk to them directly to find out why they came, what their problem is, and how you can help solve it.

So why would you automate a response to an interested party?

It makes no sense.

Why would you wait any amount of time to respond? As soon as you get a message, use those magic little fingers you have and reply immediately.

Respond to them right away with an email, DM or a call, but make it personalised and send it yourself.

Because then people know it's you responding and people buy from people.

It's like getting a GlenGary GlennRoss lead and not responding to it.

The Sell’s 11th Episode is out. This week on the show, we have Priya Malani.

Such a great conversation. She spent 10 years building her startup.

She's had to sell the idea, sell the product, and she really has built something that now is going to stand the test of time.

The word that describes Priya is resilient.

Such a great story.

I hope you all enjoy it.
