The harder I work, the luckier I get.

That’s a famous quote that I didn’t write.

But it is very true, especially in sales.

Sales has a huge amount of luck.

Right person.

At the right time.

With the right product.

Said in the right way.

Every time I call someone.

Or email someone.

Or meet someone.

I hope for a bit of luck.

That we have a good conversation.

A good connection.

Because people buy from people they like and trust.

But, and this is a huge but.

If you don’t make that call. That email. That meeting.

No amount of luck will help you.

Working on your sales target spreadsheet doesn’t help.

You have to be in the game.

Throwing shots at the basket.

The more, the better.

Because every shot you take.

Makes you better at the next one.

Work hard. Make lots of calls. Emails and meetings.

And you will get luckier.

And if what I have said isn’t clear.

I don’t think I can say it clearer than this.

So, Let’s get lucky.

By working hard.
